Associate Pastor

The Director of Student Ministries is responsible for the overall leadership of the student ministry (both 6^th – 12^th grade students and adult volunteers) and leading all functional areas in the accomplishment of Vertical Church’s mission. This includes planning/overseeing events, volunteers, pastoral care, writing/preaching messages, small groups, creating a welcoming, accepting, and loving atmosphere, and making the Gospel of Jesus known to students.

• Lead a team of adult volunteers in the creation and operation of student ministry, including weekly services and routine special events.
• Plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy services for students.
• Create and manage a student ministry calendar that will drive all the activities and teaching of the ministry.
• Direct the recruitment, training, and development of adult volunteers as needed to staff weekly programs and special events.
• Implement student check-ins, program management, and security policies/practices in support of weekly services and special events.
• Plan the annual summer trip and any other outings by advertising, announcing, and gathering information and costs.
• Develop a communication strategy with parents in order to come alongside them to aid in their child’s spiritual growth.
• Oversee the use and proactive upkeep of student ministry facilities, equipment, and grounds.
• Assist in the development of and manage the annual budget for student ministry.
• Work alongside of other staff members and be a team player to further the vision of Vertical Church.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and Lead Pastor.
